Grant Cardone - The 10X Rule book review
In a nutshell (240 pages), this is an exhaustive explanation of the effort and work required to get ahead in any sphere of life. Cardone is expanding greatly on the Red Queen theory which says you have to run as fast as you can to stay in the same spot. Just as many companies fail due to undercapitalization (there weren’t properly funded) because the founders didn’t properly forecast how much it would cost to get off the ground and how long it would take, so it is with personal effort.
What I got out of it
Things like car repairs, economic downturns, etc. I’ve changed my views on my personal safety net and what is “good enough”. In this book, Cardone goes through all possible interpretations and uses of his 10x the effort and work theory. Some books say you need to work real hard, Cardone shows you why and how.
What was difficult
Cardone belabours and repeats to get his point across. There isn’t any waste in the book, as long as the book is for a relatively simple concept. If you don’t like motivational speakers and “ra-ra” speeches then you may find this book a bit difficult. Cardone seems to go into free-association mode at times as well. IF you can get past this and focus on the message you will benefit from this book.
Recommendation
Whether or not you’re in sales or in business, you should read this book. If you strongly believe that you just want to be comfortable in life and no more and you don’t mind having personal beliefs challenged, then read this book. I really think that anyone could benefit.
